Since the founding of The Healing Co-Op by Linda Phelan (www.thehealingcoop.org), Rhode Island’s free nonprofit center dedicated to celebrating and supporting the lives of women with cancer, we’ve succeeded in developing a variety of unique programs designed to help women navigate through their journey with cancer and beyond.
As the years have passed and funding for such programs have become more and more scarce, we've been challenged to come up with more creative funding ideas. Fortunately, Linda enjoys this kind of a challenge and has succeeded famously with the writing and performing of the play, CHEMO BRAIN!, which is currently a documentary in the works, HopeCraft, our beautiful jewelry line the "birth" of which was a result of Linda's creative process when coming up with her own line of original jewelry to help supplement her humble income: www.Taa-dah.com. ® and more recently,
Got Hope!® products.
During our many retreats we quickly began to see how therapeutic it was for the women to create beautiful pieces of jewelry with their own hands with the right instruction - an expression of their own hope, courage and love. HopeCraft is the response to this observation combined with the willingness of the women to work together and with us on this new venture.
